TechNights

The Office of Community Engagement is excited to announce the return of TechNights in the School of Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University this fall!

What is TechNights? TechNights is a free youth outreach program that aims to encourage the next generation of women to pursue education and careers in STEM fields. The program is open to middle school students Grades 6-8 in the Pittsburgh area, who will learn through creative technologies, covering diverse topics including computer animation, web design, machine learning, computational biology, origami, robotics, and more. Attendance is open to all.

Where and when is TechNights? TechNights is an in-person program hosted on Carnegie Mellon University's Oakland campus. Fall 2026 program meetings are on Thursdays from 6:00–7:30 p.m., Sept. 24 – Oct. 29.
