VERA (Voive Enabled Reminder Assistant) is a phone-based taskable agent that can be instructed to deliver messages to a third party and make wake-up calls. Vera consists of two dialog systems. The first system, VeraIn handles incoming requests and stores them in a database. The second system, VeraOut, periodically polls the database and performs message delivery at the appropriate times. Both systems use the Skype Voice-over-IP infrastructure to receive and make phone calls. A short clip illustrating Vera's functionality is available for download. |
