The Shorin were based on the southern continent but moved north in AK 592 for those joint anti-spider operations with the Nirduk, Parnos, and Balan clans that never seemed to take place. (At the time, the Shorin were probably a lot more interested in sucking members and resources away from the Nirduks, and they've been mostly successful.) They're generally slimy thuggish mercenary types, mostly neutral in alignment, who use griffons for transportation. They've recently been causing trouble with the humans in Auramkil, and some of the humans are lobbying to have the rights of high elves curtailed as a result.
When the party captured Sirax at the Nirduk Vault, he said the clan had about sixty members. When Arten was captured during a botched kidnapping/assassination attempt on Ganeth, he estimated the total clan membership at around fifty, so perhaps things haven't gone so well for them recently. The Shorin briefly used the island off the coast of Silverton as a base for real live anti-spider operations (which may have begun when Elbret became involved with the Red Mage) but were routed by the spiders late in AK 593(?). (Elbret may actually have been trying to cut a deal with the spiders, luring adventurers to Silverton to attack them and take their items after the spiders softened them up, but the spiders seem to have double-crossed her.) They probably have several gates between the northern and southern continents (including a door that activated when spells were cast into it). They've been based in the hills around Kormuth and have recently been active in Banzeel and the desert; they've been largely absent from Auramkil of late.
Leader of the pack.
Elbret's doppleganger subleader, with a Scum Quotient about equal to hers. After his capture toward the end of the Vault mission, he naturally spilled his guts in true dop fashion. (Of course, Elbret would expect that of him, so a lot of the information will be of limited value.) He was incarcerated in the West for a while, but an unexpected interaction between a pact and the Hollerith altar led to his sudden demise.
Yet another scumbag. Led the mass Nirduk defection, and presumably provided Elbret with most of her inside information about the Nirduk base. He and the Red Mage don't get along, though his attempt on the Red Mage's life may have had more to do with the latter's quasi-artifact ring of fire than a personal vendetta (though I'm sure he resents anyone in favor with his clan leader). He seems to have become Elbret's subleader in Sirax's absence and is using the position to pursue his long-standing vendetta against Ganeth. Arten notes that Kalis always makes it back from missions, though he generally comes back alone. He has a silver box that transmits letters (and feathers) to and from a contact in Chthul-Ra. He might be the only high elf the party likes less than Elbret (which is a very impressive feat), so they won't be sad if they find out he got killed trying to penetrate the defenses Kharnzeel left around the Nirduk vault.
A new face on the Shorin scene; most of the clan may not even know about him yet. He appears magically disguised as a high elf, but he doesn't speak elvish; he's actually a half-elf and is rumored to be a half-drow. The Red Mage describes him as arrogant and estimates his mage abilities are around 9th level (based on seeing him teleport); he may have thief abilities as well. He has detailed plans of the Banzeel sewers; he could be the person who bought them from Rushkita House while claiming to be a member of the Barshen clan.
Another defector...possibly scum, but much less competent scum. Wants to be a clan leader, and wants it sooner rather than later (even though she's only 2/2). Didn't get along with Elbret even initially (always trying to take charge of things can have that effect on people, especially ruthless clan leaders), and probably wasn't any happier after Ganeth and Kelmin made her look especially stupid by collapsing the area around the Vault entrance and escaping the Nirduk base during her watch.
Native of the southern continent, recruited by the Shorin in late AK 591 or early 592, moved to the northern continent around 593/7. Yet another scummy slimebag. Also the hapless fool who was dispatched by Kalis to oversee the latest plan to kidnap and murder Ganeth. He was captured by the party, relieved of his items (except the ring of griffon riding, which he needed to get home), and quested by Hanali (via Silvana) to tell every high elf he meets what the party is actually about (something the Shorin have a hard time comprehending) and to try to convince them that there are really less painful ways to get spells and items than trying to take them from us. (He's also the unknowing recipient of one of Silvana's scry locks, which may allow the party to keep better track of what the Shorin are up to.) 3/3 fighter/mage.
Random Shorin twit who happened to be around the Nirduk base when it collapsed.
Random Shorin twit who was killed during the latest attempt on Ganeth's life. 2/1 fighter/mage.
