Notes This design was created by RMN BuShips to serve as an admiral’s barge and VIP Transport at the same time as the Mk26 Skyhawk Assault Shuttle, as part of the same construction programme. It was introduced into service in 275AL. The primary external difference between the two models is the removal of the aft pulser turret and its replacement by an armorplast dome immediately aft of the flight deck, with extremely comfortable seating for four to six persons. The interior accommodations are designed to accommodate up to forty individuals in comfort similar to the most luxurious civilian executive transports. Although not intended for combat service, it retains the ability to provide ground support or–with its enhanced C-Cubed and EW suites–serve as an advanced command post.
Units remaining in service–and new-construction units for the expanding number of assault transports in the Fleet–will be fitted with upgraded inertial compensators and Beta² impellers. This upgrade will increase performance to 500G, while effecting a reduction of 30 tons in the mass of the drive systems. The mass reduction will not be reflected in the total mass of the craft, but will be used to mount more powerful EW/ECM and sensor electronics along with an increase in armor and shielding to equal that of the Mk28 Buccaneer.
The Skywarrior has not appeared previously. It was inspired by electronic correspondence between S. Washburn and the compiler.
