(16) Down on the Monongahela River, it's a variety pack. These ducks were seen by the Riverfront Park on the South Side. Their behavior appeared to be much more uniform than their coloration. |
(17) A duck in motion; I suspect that a sunflower seed had gotten its attention. The front half of it resembles a coiled spring, flexing snake-like as it lashes out. |
(18) In this shot taken at Panther Hollow lake, I like the concentric circular ripples emanating from these mallards. |
(19) A male and female mallard stand a bit outside the Panther Hollow lake. |
(20) The mallard leaving the shot just hopped into the water, thus altering the surface in interesting ways. It bears a certain resemblance to the surface of a lava flow. |
