I am starting as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer & Inforamtion Technology at Purdue University this Fall. If you are interested in working with me, please get in touch! I am a Postdoctoral Fellow at the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University. In May 2014, I received my Ph.D. degree from Purdue University in Computer and Information Technology with a specialization in Robotics, under the supervision of Prof. Eric Matson. My dissertation topic was "Building Large-scale Broadband Networks using Mobile Robots". I am working with Prof. Bernardine Dias and Prof. Aaron Steinfeld for the NSF NRI project on Assistive Robots for Blind Travelers. My current research effort is to explore the use of co-robots to enhance the safety and independence of blind and visually impaired travelers, with the goal of effectively assisting these travelers in navigating unfamiliar urban environments. In recent years, my research interests have been at the intersection of robotics, human-robot interaction, and sensor networks. Specific topics of interest include:
Besides, applications of my research include field robotics, search-and-rescue robots, networked robotics, assistive technology, unmanned aerial vehicles, robot navigation, object tracking, formation control, and embedded systems. |
