  • 07/10/2013 My advisor and I were interviewed by Purdue Exponent, the school newspaper, on engagement in firefighting robots. See here for the article.

  • 05/24/2013 The paper presented by Dong-Hoe Kim at the Institute of Control, Robotics and Systems (ICROS) 2013 in Changwon, Korea on May 23-24,2013 was selected as the Best Student Presentation Paper of the conference. The award paper entitled "Development of a Dust Detection Sensor System using Infra-red Sensors" was co-authored by Dong-Hoe Kim, me, and Prof. Donghan Kim. See here for certificates.
  • 04/28/2013 A paper titled "Heuristic Optimization Techniques for Self-orientation of Antennas in Long-distance Point-to-point Broadband Networks" has been accepted for publication in Ad Hoc Networks, Elsevier. Joint work with John Lewis, Eric Matson, and Anthony Smith.
  • 04/11/2013 I successfully defended my Ph.D. dissertation proposal, titled "Challenges of Networked Robots: Deployment, Communication Range, and Navigation". See here for presentation slides.

  • 11/15/2012 I was invited to teach 12 Peruvian students for an entire school day about Robotics Programming Language, by Department of Computer & Information Technology, West Lafayette, Purdue University.
