The DOS window will close after you quit QuickTime.
If you have any of the following problems:

- No audio
- No video
Click on the "Pause" button of
QuickTime and then resume by clicking on the "Play" button of QuickTime.
First look at the command prompt (DOS) window and check for messages that

When clicking on the link to view the broadcast, Netscape
pops up a window
saying “Unknown File Type”…
Save the file
to your desktop. Then double
click on the saved file. It
should start QuickTime and our software.
QuickTime starts but does not play any audio or video.
Older versions of QuickTime
Make sure you
have QuickTime 5 or 6. If you don't, please download it from http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download.
Our software is known not to work with QuickTime 4.
Windows XP
Follow these instructions
to disable the default Internet firewall. Windows XP by default has the firewall enabled.
QuickTime or ESM started but then exited 10 seconds
afterwards.
Older version of our software

install a new version of our software here.

More than one QuickTime opened
Check if you have
more than one QuickTime opened. Close all QuickTime and DOS windows, and
restart ESM by clicking on the broadcast viewing web link again.

Audio is good, but the video frame rate low
Slow CPU
Reduce
QuickTime window size.
QuickTime is very CPU intensive.
QuickTime cannot display full frame rate (15 fps) in our 400MHz
machine in Normal Window Size.
With close to 100% CPU utilization we got about 12 fps. We can display full frame rate in our
550 MHz machine.
The video is dark.
Brightness of your monitor
Adjust the
brightness and contrast settings on your monitor.

| Tips specific to Linux Installation |
Please note that we have tested this installation only for:
- RedHat 6.2 and above, Debian 2.2 and Debian 3.0.
- Mozilla 1.0 and 1.2b, and Netscape 4.97 and 6
Do let us know if things work when you try a different distribution/browser version

When installing crossover, I get an error: “Unable to get
info about installed DLLs: child process exited abnormally”
You are installing Crossover in a Directory with AFS
Install crossover in a local non-AFS directory
The video quality is quite bad
High CPU usage by QuickTime
Reduce QuickTime window size. QuickTime and wine seem to
take up a good chunk of the CPU with the Normal Window Size.
You can reduce the window size by clicking on “Movie” and “Half size”
Why do I get the annoying “Demo version reminder”?
Unfortunately, you are using a demo version of the
Crossover plugin. The actual version costs about 20$ or so. We need this
plugin to get QuickTime player to work on Linux.
