Be a Content Publisher on the Internet

Always wanted to put your audio/video content on the Net? Never had enough bandwidth to do so? Now here's your chance!

The ESM group had created a Multimedia Publishing Toolkit, a one stop portal that enables your desktop to be the source of a live broadcast. To be capable of doing that, you need to meet at least the following minimum requirements:

  • Windows (98/NT/ME/2K/XP) or Linux (RedHat 6.2-8.0/Debian 2.2-3.0)
  • Sufficient bandwidth i.e. a fast Internet connection.
    • The recommended configuration involves a 15 kbps audio stream, 100 kbps low quality video stream, and 300 kbps high quality video stream. This totals to around 400+ kbps.
    • This implies that you'll need around 400+ kbps at the very least to support one children on your broadcast tree. A DSL connection with less than 200 kbps upload speed can only guarantee low quality video broadcast.
    • We highly recommend a 10 BaseT Ethernet link. Since the total number of children supported will be capped at 6, the total amount of bandwidth from your computer will not exceed 2500 kbps, which is around 1/4 of your 10 Mbps link.
  • Our permission - Sign up for a broadcaster account - we'll be contacting you shortly.

A preview of the toolkit is coming up soon.
