I hope that this letter finds you in the best of health. The sad demise of your clan leader, Streck Brightblade came as a true shock to me but I am confident that you will ably fill the void that his passing has created.
As the new leader of the Nirduk Clan, you have many challenges ahead and I shall not delay you unduly as you set forth on your glorious career. No doubt your first conern is to determine the extent of your clan's resources. Unfortunately your ex-leader despite his "divine" intellect, did not see it fit to entrust anyone with the full knowledge of his hidden wealth. Maybe he felt that his immortality was assured? Whatever the reasons, his ego may lead to the downfall of your clan.
Fortunately I have acquired certain pieces of information that may be of great use to you at this time. The first is the accurate location of the hidden Nirduk cache on the Southern Continent; the second is the knowledge of the access codes to the treasure vault in your base. I am sure that you will be eager to discuss further arrangements with me regarding these issues.
Let me reveal some hints of the secrets I hold to convince you that I am not bluffing. Please examine the series of combination locks by your vault. You will note that two combination numbers may be entered: a 6 digit one for partial access (typically for use by the subleader in charge of defense) and a longer 17 digit one for complete access (known only to your late leader). Since each place can hold a digit from 0-9, solving the lock by brute force would obviously take too long. However I have discovered the secret behind these locks, and although Streck may have changed the codes since Kalis' departure, the new code can be discovered through knowledge of the old code. As proof, you may test the number "714285" on the lesser lock and verify that it works. I have subsequently expanded my theory on these locks to deduce that the combination number of the larger lock can only be one of 17 candidates (which I will reveal to you at a later stage). No doubt you are impressed by the fact that I have reduced the potential solutions from 100000000000000000 down to under a score but I feel that this is an artifact of the lock's hidden simplicity rather than my genius with numbers.
I would like to propose that we work together in secret rather than publicly -- in fact I encourage you to oppose me in public. There are great benefits to be gained from working both sides of a problem. Humans particularly are very myopic when it comes to seeing the hidden benefits of a situation. I do not wish to reveal my plans to you in writing lest they stain your presently pristine reputation. Let's just say that we should keep in touch...
Your ally in troubled times.
