Social hour
As guests arrived at the Holiday Inn, they encountered tables of cheese
and crackers and a bar where they could receive liquid refreshment on the
warm day.
Servers walked around with shrimp cocktail and meatballs as old friends
reunited and new friends were made.
First Dance
Sarah and Scott began the evening by dancing to "Moonlight Serenade",
a recording of the Glenn Miller Orchestra. Although the height difference
was again found amusing, the glow on their faces delighted the 126 in attendance.
Toasts
After a blessing by the Rev. Dr. Henry James, touching toasts
were given by Dean Grannes and Stacey Walker.
Dinner
Guests were seated to bowls of melon pearls and sherbet.
The meal progressed with a tossed salad, which was followed by the main
course. The main course was a chicken marsala with a
stuffed baked potato and a squash medley on the side.
A strawberry sundae was served for dessert. As it was the perfect
season, the strawberries were fresh and delicious. (The ice cream
was good, too!)
Cake
Scott and Sarah cut the three-tiered cake with roses and Cala lilies.
Later in the evening, the guests learned that it was a white cake with
a chocolate buttercream between layers.
Dancing
DJ Services provided by DJ Sonny, also known as Jeff Apotheker.
