Toast by Dean Grannes:
Good evening. My name is Dean Grannes. I've known Scott
for almost
fifteen years. We were friends and roommates in college back
in his
Carnegie Mellon days, and we remained good friends after he moved to
Dartmouth and St. Lawrence, and I went to California.
About two years ago, when he first told me about Sarah, I learned that
she
was a former student of his, that they both were coming off of other
relationships, and that in a few weeks, they would be living on opposite
ends of Pennsylvania. I tried to be optimistic and supportive,
but at the
same time felt I had to warn him that it didn't look good for such
a
relationship.
However, within a few short months, any doubts had vanished. This
was
because I had seen, even 3000 miles away through phone conversations
and
email, the incredible love, respect, and dedication that they had for
each
other. I could see that this relationship was strong. Now,
almost two
years later, we see the results of this love, respect, and dedication.
Sarah and Scott, may your love for each other, respect of
each other,
and dedication to each other, continue and grow all your lives.
Toast by Stacey Walker:
My name is Stacey Walker, I have known Sarah since we started college
at
St. Lawrence, almost 6 years. It hardly seems that 2 years have
passed
since Sarah & I graduated and since Sarah & Scott started dating.
In these
years many things have changed but on thing has remained constant and
that
is Sarah & Scott's friendship and love for each other. Today,
my best
friend has married her best friend and confidant. I wish you
both much
happiness and joy in your new life together. May your life together
far
exceed your happiest dreams.
