Perched in a tree

(11) A tripod made it much easier to take this shot, since I find it fairly difficult to hand-hold good enough for a decent exposure when at max telephoto (28.6mm, FOV equivalent for 35mm would be ~140mm), f/8.0, and with a Tiffen 2X teleconverter to boot. Conveniently, this particular squirrel chose to hold this pose.

Looking at bikes

(12) Carefully balanced on a bike rack near Doherty Hall, the squirrel pauses to remember which bicycle it rode today.

(13) Here's a closer look at a squirrel as it perches upon a bike rack.

(14) This squirrel watches from well above me. Shot taken with the tripod used to point the camera basically vertical.

Fox squirrel, meet peanut

(15) While I was starting towards the exit of the Los Angeles County Arboretum, two fox squirrels literally ran at me from wherever they'd been hiding in the trees, and once they got near, they ran circles around me. T'was quite obvious what they wanted...
