The "Woman on the Bridge" Vision

Shortly after the surviving shard of Lessania's spirit was grafted onto Ganeth, he asked the resident whilg of the dwarven caverns how he might be affected by it. The whilg answered:

As a Red One, your goal is to finish tasks that have been promised but remain incomplete. Now that you have completed Lessania's obligations, she will be there to aid you in your future quests. There will come a time when you face a danger that you are unable to face, and in this hour of need her help will be invaluable.
Ganeth then received a vision:
An arc of gold, like a bridge rises ahead of you in the darkness, as if spanning gates between two planes. At its apex stands a woman, dressed in a dark robe, blocking the path. In her open hand burns a black flame that seems to suck light up. Molten black wax drips down from her hand, eating away the material of the bridge like acid. Behind her, you see a bright doorway, radiating a prismatic blur of colors. Beneath you, the bridge throbs with a complex beat, as if it is conveying a message. In your left hand, you hold Elissa, noting that the gold of her blade is identical to the bridge material. In your other hand, you hold a glowing amethyst the size of a small apple. In your mind, you feel a calmness as Lessania guides your blade even as the woman's first blow shatters your mind. Then all goes dark.
The general imagery fit with the woman being the Shade Lord, whom we suspected of being involved in a conspiracy to shadow the plane (cut it off from the Outer Planes, thus the acid burning through the bridge). Though the Shade Lord's power has been greatly diminished and the plane shadowing has come and gone, there's been no direct confrontation between Ganeth and the Shade Lord. (Silvana's theory is that the whilgs simply want Ganeth to defeat the Shade Lord, possibly because she's holding some evil whilgs hostage and using them to tap into the general whilg network.) An Eastern adventurer called "Granny" later did nail Ganeth with a Mindkiller spell; Lessania was able to step in, finish her off, and keep the body functioning until help arrived, though after her real awakening during the Shadowing she was unable to remember this event. (Since Granny and the other Ravens were adventurers who'd been sent to kill us because of our suspected involvement with revolutionaries in the Eastern Empire, it's unlikely that she'd be the woman on the bridge.)

This motif later appeared in yet another of Ganeth's whilg visions and in Cambra's whilg visions.
