The Original Ten Whilg Visions

----------------------------------------------------------------------
That the whilgs were giving Ganeth visions at all was considered strange by the dwarves, who thought it only happened to dwarven priests. It now seems that at least some of the whilg visions work through self-fulfilling prophecy, but here they are anyway.

Grey web with sticky strands and holes closing an opening

This image appeared during Ganeth's first foray into Dreamspace, blocking an exit from the road. It looks like there's a connection to the Spiders here, though it's not clear whether the web is keeping something out or in, or what the significance of the gaps in the web are. Webs also appeared in a later vision.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nightmare

The party met a drow on something resembling a nightmare during their first trip to the Drow plane, around the time Ganeth stopped dreaming spontaneously. The nightmare could refer to a vast assortment of Lower-Planar Bad News, including night hags and Gloom Meet (both of which have since given the party problems).

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Amethyst, lit from within

Ganeth is holding a similar gem in the woman on the bridge vision, and an island of amethyst was encountered in the Veins of Abbathor. The amethyst is a symbol of Dumathoin ("keeper of secrets under the mountain"), who (according to both the dwarves and Nomistrus) sometimes sponsors Good creatures (including non-dwarves) anonymously, expecting that they will do good deeds in the future; Dumathoin might then be one of the generally Good sponsors that Nomistrus was unable to trace during his examination of Ganeth's spirit.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Dark road surrounded by high cliffs, with 3-toed footprints ahead

Ganeth and Milana's first foray into Dreamspace was set on this road, which the dwarven priests believed (correctly, as it turned out) was a vision of the Abyss. Ganeth and a whilg later examined this vision in more detail:
The road is surrounded on both sides by high walls of rock, hewn by an unknown hand. Ahead of you there are footprints, with three toes. In each foot-print there are innumerable small insects, crawling around. The sky is dusk, and there are many lizards in the sky. Ahead of you there is a shadow on the cliffs, from some creature behind you. You dare not turn your head. As you follow one evil, another has trailed you.

The insects are actually tiny spiders. Each one is black, and has a blue marking on its back. The lizards are somewhat like dragons, and each might have a rider upon its back. There is a haze throughout your image... possibly smoke. In fact you can smell it. Something is on fire.

The shadow...as you look upon it it is changing. Try as you might, you cannot put a name to its form. It is as if it is slipping the grasp of your mind. It is definitely a threatening shadow no matter what its shape.

[Ganeth asks, "An unknown enemy?"]

An unknown enemy maybe, or a known one with myriad forms. You feel the presence of a strong mind, and a prickling at the back of your head. There is a hot, humid tang to the air.

The enemy turned out to be a balor that Lessania had fought several centuries ago. Lessania was almost entirely destroyed in the battle, except for a small piece of her spirit that wandered around Dreamspace before eventually being attached to Ganeth's spirit. The balor was also crippled, and was trapped Dreamspace's representation of the Abyss; he recently tried to grab part of Limbo and use its energy to regenerate himself and return to the real world, but he was foiled and ultimately destroyed by the party in Dreamspace.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

White feathers floating in a pool of red blood

Ganeth's sister Milana used to wake up screaming about blood and feathers during nights with a new moon, though this stopped after the balor was dealt with. Possibly something about either pegasi in general or Cirrus in particular?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Cool blue water under a warm sun, fish in foreground, island in bg

This image in generally associated with the dolphins. Someone (I forget who) once saw the image on the back of a magical card deck.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Arc of light or gold stretching through the void

During Ganeth's first trip to Dreamspace, he flew through a curving tunnel after getting the by the web; when he looked back, the tunnel looked like this arc. The arc also appears as the bridge in the woman on the bridge vision, and there is a bridge across a cavern in the Veins of Abbathor that bears a suspicious resemblance to this arc (apart from being made of stone). Ganeth's longsword seems to be made of the same material as the arc.

The dwarven priests felt that this was an auspicious omen, if only because it had gold in it.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Red lunar eclipse

Kambheer and the last major Whitemoon meeting both occurred during lunar eclipses, and several items from the Box O'Doom had eclipse insignia on them (though they could have been the solar eclipse insignia of the Barshen clan; it wasn't entirely clear).

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Woman from the east with face hooded in shadows, one hand

During Ganeth's first trip to Dreamspace, this woman appeared and tried to blast him into a big bad vortex. She is also the star of the woman on the bridge vision. Our best guess is that she is the Shade Lord, whom the whilgs want dealt with for their own reasons.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Egg ready to hatch in deep, dense, green, healthy forest

This could conceivably be the chaos source, but it might not be: The chaos source doesn't have any sort of foresty signature, and Ganeth was nowhere close to being joined to Lessania at the time.
