Brian Y. Lim
I am a third-year Ph.D. student in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute (HCII) at Carnegie Mellon University working with Anind Dey I am interested in making computing technologies more usable. My research interest is in ubiquitous computing, context-aware applications. My current research looks at how to make context-aware applications intelligible, so that they can explain how they function, and users would find their behavior more believable, and find them more usable.
After graduating, I had a year-long stint at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), a research institute under the Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR). I have also obtained the A*STAR National Science Scholarship, providing funding for my undergraduate (Fall 2003 - Spring 2006) and graduate studies (since Fall 2007).
Here is my curriculum vitae.
