Description of toy concept 3, The life of an Engineer:
The life of an Engineer consists of a board, two die, timer, money, cards, and building blocks. The child interacts with the board game by rolling the die, moving a certain amount of places specified the sum of the die, and following the directions specified by the child's destination. There are four sections on the board. One part of the board is designated to building objects. If a child lands in this section, the child has the possibility of picking up a card saying to build a door with the building blocks. Another part of the board is designated to paying bills or receiving paychecks. If a child lands in this section, the child has the possibility of picking up a card saying to pay your mortgage bill or collect your first paycheck. Another part of the board is designated to experiencing an interview question. If a child lands in this section, the child has the possibility of picking up a card saying to state one good quality of yours that will benefit our company and the opponents have to agree if it is good or not. The last part of the board is designated to meeting your coworkers. If a child lands in this section, the child has the possibility of picking up a card saying to state if the person on the card is your coworker. The SBW sections are the "Should be Working" sections the child does not want to be on. These sections make the player pay a 8 dollar fee for not working when the timer goes off. The money would be placed under the safe section. If a player lands on that section, the player gets to keep the money.
The principles of the toy are perfecting one's money, building, identifying, and communication skills. The child learns how to deal with money when he or she lands in the paying bills or receiving paychecks section. The child learns how to build objects when he or she lands in the building section. The child learns how to identify people when he or she lands in the meet your coworker section. The child learns how to communicate when he or she lands in the interview section.
The cost of constructing this toy will be cheap. Each of these items included in the toy can be mass produced easily. It will probably be the same cost of making monopoly.
The toy will be durable and safe for kids 7 and up. The toy will be durable because the toy will be made out of durable material. The main safety issues are the die and the building blocks. They are pretty small and they should not be consumed. So hopefully the age range for the game will avoid that problem. The toy is otherwise safe do to soft material that will be place around the corners the toy.
