| Financial Web Site Design (03/00, two weeks) | ||
| Challenge | Develop the information architecture and visual information design for a web site that deals with a large range of financial information using 640*480 screen size. It includes banking and personal finance services, which have over 60 terms to be organized. |
|
| Process | Used a card sorting task to understand user's mental models to group information in a clear and intuitive manner. I constructed wire frame architectures and sketch for the four screens to determine navigation and information hierarchy. Did the heuristic evaluation. | |
| Solution | Worked with
typography, visual design elements, and color to create a
visual interface for the financial site. Explored into a
simplified and user-centered information architecture. Using
visual cues as much as possible for users to easily navigate
the complex web site, and tried to build the "trust"
and "safety" relationship with users.
Tools: Photoshop 5.0, Illustrator 8.0
