Summary of G's visit to Zzukiss

A summary I once wrote for the other players about the day Ganeth agreed to take in Lessania...more or less literally. It all started when the ki-rin mentioned that there was someone who wanted to meet G and his sister Milana...in Dreamspace on the night of the new moon.
After the standard extraplanar disclaimer (that G was going willingly, that the ki-rin were only facilitating the meeting, and that the being G was to meet did not reflect their philosophies), G's spells were sucked by the altar and the Iceman [G's Dreamspace persona] popped out of the cloud gate, followed shortly by Lightbringer (Milana). They were met by "Pazazu the Pixie," who was invis to normal sight and rather a twit. The three of them headed toward the Mountain and entered through a man-sized crack in a barren rockface. (The rock was some black volcanic type, much like the black granite that black dragons travel through; this apparently holds in Dreamspace as well, though none were encountered this trip.) This was the Dreamspace version of Concordant Opposition, and after a six hour trip our hero(tm) reached a large cavern with a strange greyish lake, and met Zzukiss and Zzukist (brother and sister, who gave these names because they had no associations and would be neutral to G and Milana). Pazazu was dismissed at this point, Milana and Zzukist went off for a chat, and G and Zzukiss talked by the lake. (The mind link between G and Milana crashed when they split up.)

Zzukiss appears in Dreamspace as a man with three heads (which he says represents his watch over the three philosophies of Good, Neutrality, and Evil), eight arms (for his actions through each of the eight extreme alignments), a silvery sheen covering his body, eyes with a fiery glow, and two legs. Zzukist appears as a woman with the same features. Zzukiss claims to represent the Dark Side of the Universe, also called the Destroyer. He is not evil, though he is often mistaken for it. He represents the forces that oppose stagnation (which stifles birth), and he considers G to be one a few Good beings able to cope with this philosophy. He is contrained to act during new moons and solar eclipses, and can only be visited then. He is also G's sponsor in Dreamspace.

According to Zzukiss, a Red One is a dweller of some world who is chosen by him to bring Destruction (his caps) to those not of that world. (Sort of; it is apparently more a path that G has chosen than something that has been imposed on him.) A Red One is a tool of change, and is not necessarily a force for any alignment (though one obviously can be).

Lessania was "conceptually similar to a Red One," and was also sponsored by Zzukiss. Her spirit was partially destroyed (permanently damaged) in her fight with the Balor, and what's left has been wandering aimlessly around Dreamspace ever since, "seeking to continue her fight but powerless to do so." The remains of her spirit are linked to G, Milana, and "hundreds of other high elves" of several families through a pact she had made; this potential manifests itself more in some than in others, though their actions or occasionally through random chance. Lessania still wants to do some great good in the world, and on her behalf Zzukiss was hoping to bond her spirit to either G or Milana. (Incidentally, G is not literally a descendant of Lessania, though their spirits are linked.)

Once G and Lessania are bonded, Lessania will be in G's subconscious, sometimes remembering situations and giving G warnings of danger, good or bad vibes, and so on. She may also give advice through dreams. In her partially destroyed state, she should not be able to take over, and would be unable to cast spells, wield a weapon, or do anything else terribly useful even if she did. She is capable of feeling emotions and passing them into G's subconscious. She will be more active when G is asleep, and will probably give him nightmares based on her fears; these should not be severe enough to preclude restful sleep. On rare occasions, G may wake up disoriented from this; the disorientation should only last a round or so. Lessania will show up as a "possessing" spirit, but will be unaffected by Dispel Evil; G will start showing up on Detect Good. In astral space, G's and Lessania's astral forms will appear intermingled, though only G will be able to take action; Lessania is simply along for the ride. If G dies and is recovered, Lessania's spirit probably will be as well. The nightmares may provide Dreamspace engineers with a means of placing G in various unpleasant regions of Dreamspace (all modeled on Lessania's fears), but some outside help would be required to actually get G into Dreamspace. Lessania has a fairly strong moral sense, so if G's alignment shifts, some conflict will result. Some beings may be pissed that Lessania is back on the scene, even indirectly, but Zzukiss figures most of these beings are already pissed at either G or Silvana anyway. The melding will take place gradually over about a month.

Before sending G on his way, Zzukiss mentioned that although Z only acts directly during new moons and solar eclipses, G's actions were being observed continually, and admonished him to "do [his] job." He also mentioned that upon leaving the plane of Concordant Opposition, one must face oneself -- something to keep in mind if G ever thought about coming to visit again.

Ki-Rin reaction: They are happy that G has agreed to carry Lessania's spirit; they feel it is a good action, and are glad that she will be able to contribute again. They also think that G is the best possible host for Lessania, and that they should mesh together nicely. (They didn't actually know her, but heard about her from Cirrus, who is no more. Cirrus was apparently an excellent tactician and had good movement/transportation abilities; the two did a lot of adventuring together in the lower planes.)
