Comp1 Instructions

• We start comps and quizzes promptly at the assigned time (so be a few minutes early).
• Comp1 is up to 23 minutes and contains 34 problems.
• Comp1 problems are taken directly (with changed constants) from Comp-Prep1.
  • After you complete Comp-Prep1, you can hit the Reset button to get more practice with changed constants. This will not affect your completion status or completion timestamp.
• Comp1 includes 3 handouts:
  1. The Question Packet (on color paper (not white))
     • Do not write on this! We reuse these packets!!!
  2. The Answer Packet (on white paper)
  3. Scratch Paper (also on white paper)
• So you only write on white paper (not on color paper).
• Here is the frontmatter on the Comp1 Answer Sheet:
  1. Do not write on the comp packets (where you will find the problems).
  2. Write your answers (and only your answers) on this sheet (the Answer Sheet).
  3. For multiple choice, only write the uppercase letter for your answer.
  4. Write neatly. If we cannot read your answer, you will not receive credit.
  5. If you need scratch paper, you must only use our supplied scratch paper.
  6. You may not ask any questions during the Comp.
  7. You may not view any notes, websites, phones, laptops, or anything else except for the comp sheet, answer sheet, and any scratch paper we provide you.
  8. Ignore any extra questions on this Answer Sheet.
