Let's Talk! More...
- Gates Hillman Centers
- Collaborative Commons - 6th Floor and 7th Floor Atrium
SCS & ECE share and connect through the computer and the critical engineering sciences involved. So do companies. We approach the machine and the sciences of computing and hardware from our various and unique perspectives and needs. But our faculty and students work and study across divisions, as computing and engineering have no singular master. Our best ideas and projects come from working together.
We invite our corporate liaisons to join us again: to see where we learn, conduct research, explore our fields, and grow as scientists, engineers and individuals. An early dinner will be on-going.
- Let's Talk...again about Careers, Getting Jobs, Your Work, Our Work, Job Realities...
- Let's Talk... again with our ECE & SCS Undergraduate Students to see what they are doing.
- And Let's Talk, Too about the excitement ahead.
We look forward to seeing friends, meeting new colleagues and, of course, talking!
Attire is very casual. This is the Sunday after HackCMU (! - contact us for more information) and the day before the campus-wide career fair. All we'll need is you and the students. There is no fee.
What to Expect? Undergraduate students from SCS and ECE only. This is not an event for Masters or PhD students. We have many other mechanisms for you to meet our graduate students throughout the year. Consider this the start: career week is just the tip of a long, extended iceberg brimming with activities!
Set-Up: You will be assigned your table upon arrival. Please check in at the 6th floor lobby, by the elevators, Gates Hillman Centers (yes, the s on the end of Center is real!). If you have pre-shipped any materials, we will have them waiting for you to grab. You may begin setting up at 12:00 pm.
- 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm - Set up Time - Lunch will be served during the entire preparation time, on-going coffee and beverages
- 2:30 pm - Overview - Rashid Auditorium - for those new to our event.
- 3:00 pm - Students arrive!
- 6:30 pm - Rest! The year begins....
Hungry? Lunch and coffee/beverages will be available for you during set-up. On-going "pre-dinner" will be available at 4:30 pm.
What to Remember: This is relaxed and informal. Bring materials that show-case upcoming events, talks, activities on campus. And be prepared for questions!
What to Bring: A table cover (6-ft), one pull-up banner, some swag (no need to overdo), and YOU! Branding yourself is good (tags, clothing, jackets, caps, whatever you usually have).
Upon Arrival: Take the elevators to the 6th Floor. We'll be waiting for you when you come out of the doors.

IMPORTANT NOTE: There are no weekend express deliveries to campus. Please be sure all your materials, if pre-shipped, arrive by Friday (before 5:00 pm), September 13.
Parking: Campus parking is typically very limited on campus, especially weekdays, owing to construction projects and normal demands in our area. Please visit the East Campus Garage (corner of Forbes Avenue and Beeler Streets - adjacent to the Athletic Fields) for available spaces. Parking is free on weekends. We do recommend pre-shipping critical materials if needed, to avoid having to carry them across campus. Alternative parking locations are noted on the Interactive Campus Map, but the East Campus Garage is recommended.
