Vision and Mobile Robotics (VMR) Laboratory

Suggested Lab Computer Host Names

It was common, in the early days of the Internet, to name groups of machines with a theme. Our lab, for the most part, uses Scottish Islands as the theme. Here are some host names that can be used when new computers are added to the lab. Some of the machines are named after baseball players (gibson, hershiser, and fernando), and some are named after body parts (lefteye, righteye, teeth, nose). A good hostname is relatively short, easy to spell, and not too similar to other hostnames in the group.
