| Notes | The Yuma lighter is one
of the largest smallcraft built with aerodynamic flight capability. It is
designed to carry a very large load of cargo, vehicles, or troops into hazardous
situations, and bears armor approximately twice as thick as that of the
Whitman assault shuttle. In its normal configuration, it carries
sufficient life support and consumables for thirty days of independent operation
at its full 500-person emergency capacity. Unlike true assault shuttles and pinnaces, the Yuma is not configured for combat troop drops, and must land to deploy any embarked troops. The after half of the passenger/cargo section can be sealed off to allow up to 15,000 cubic meters of vacuum storage (50m x 20m x 15m). |
