Notes This is the first IAN DD class built with “acquired” 1st Gen GSN/RMN IC and impeller technology, introduced into service @1915 P.D. These ships are constructed with an unusual amount of “waste space” to allow for future refitting with improved ICs/impellers and other technology as such devices become available.
Ships of this class are named for Old Earth cities from the regions formerly known as Germany (including Prussia and East Prussia), Austria-Hungary, and China. Initial production run includes IAS Bremen (the Class Ship), IAS Hamburg, IAS Berlin, IAS Vienna, IAS Beijing, IAS Salzburg, IAS Bonn, IAS Xiang-hai, IAS Canton, IAS Köln, IAS Danzig, and IAS München. The total number of this class is intended to be very large.
