Professional Background

I am from New Jersey (last exit north on the Garden State Parkway). I went to college at Rutgers University, where I majored in computer science and English.

I completed my Ph. D. thesis at UIUC on Automatic Classification of Input/Output Access Patterns under the direction of Daniel Reed. I am continuing my parallel input/output research as a postdoc with Garth Gibson at Carnegie Mellon University.

Before parallel input/output, I worked on presentation of parallel system performance data with sound (sonification).
