Phoenix Project
The Phoenix project explores the direct implementation of programs in (reconfigurable) hardware. The benefits of this approach are: low energy consumption, reduced design and manufacturing costs, high performance.

We attack the problem both top-down and bottom-up:

  • Bottom-up, we study the use of nanotechnology for building very large reconfigurable devices.
  • Top-down, we study the automatic synthesis of circuits from programs written in high-level languages.
