View of clouds

(1) It's a beautiful afternoon at the Monte Bello Open Space Preserve. E-1, 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 at 17mm, f/16, 1/100s, ISO 100. I was rather unusually in manual metering mode, trying out the sunny-16 rule of thumb.

A closer look at the mist

(2) This is a look at the same mist, but from a slightly different area and with a longer lens. To me, greyscale feels right for this image since it's all about shape. Of course, I'm a sufficiently odd duck that to me, this scene also looks like it would it fit in well early in an Akira Kurosawa period piece. E-1, 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 + EC-14 at 224mm, f/8, 1/250s, ISO 100.

Another view of the mist

(3) Same scene, a marginally different composition. E-1 + 50-200mm f/2.8-3.5 + EC-14, at 224mm, f/8, 1/125s, ISO 100.

Tree monster

(4) Uh-oh. I'd better offer some nutritious hummous and back away before it eats me. E-1, 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 at f/8, 1/40s, ISO 100.
