Drummers

(1) These appeared to be students striking drums, while stepping a bit oddly in a circle. No demons appeared, as far as I could tell. *shrug* E-1 + 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 at 54mm, f/8, 1/100s, ISO 100.

(2) Well, it's Berkeley. 'Nuff said. Actually, I didn't see that much evidence of politicking, despite it being pretty close to an election. Maybe the current student body is either more apathetic, or perhaps simply more cynical about the effectiveness of 60's-style ralies. Or they were rallying elsewhere -- quite possible. Zoology

(3) There's something rather ironic about the Life Sciences building being adorned by sphinxes. That said, we could probably engineer sphinxes, so long as we didn't care whether those wings actually sufficed for flight. I doubt that feathered wings of those size would generate enough lift to launch a creature with the muscle mass of a lion body, 'tho, so flight would be trickier. Downtown

(4) Downtown Berkeley seems a lot less healthy or prosperous place than UC Berkeley itself. This is a view from the campus border. E-1 + 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 at 54mm, f/8, 1/200s, ISO 100.

Readysetgo

(5) It's a little odd that the squirrel's head is much more blurred than everything else, and horizontally at that -- as if it's in the process of launching itself. E-1 + 14-54mm f/2.8-3.5 at 54mm, f/5.6, 1/25s, ISO 100.
