Demonstrating our concept

In order to demonstrate how our musical player would fit into the lifestyle of a senior, we created storyboards covering typical usage scenarios that would demonstrate the unique interactions afforded by our musical player. We wanted our storyboard to emphasize the sharing aspect of our musical player, as we determined that was the feature driving the emotional motivation behind our music player. Our secondary goal was to demonstrate the usefulness of incorporating a storage unit together with a music player.

These first three scenes show the senior enjoying a particular album from their music player. Listening to the music reminds her of a friend, so she decides to write a musical note to her friend, and gives it to her when she sees her the next day.

The next three scene show the friend taking the card home and listening to the note card her friend gave her. Listening to it reminds her of her brother, so she decides to write him a note, and drops the card in the mail.

These storyboards sketches emphasized the sharing aspect of the player as well as the convenience of being able to share music in a medium that seniors are already very familiar with. In the later stages, we extended these storyboard sketches to better represent features of our player.
