Bonnie John is an engineer (B.Engr., The Cooper Union, 1977; M. Engr. Stanford, 1978) and cognitive psychologist (M.S. Carnegie Mellon, 1984; Ph. D. Carnegie Mellon, 1988) who has worked both in industry (Bell Laboratories, 1977-1983) and academe (Carnegie Mellon University, 1988-present). She is an Associate Professor in the Human-Computer Interaction Institute and the Director of the Masters Program in HCI. Her research includes human performance modeling, usability evaluation methods, and the relationship between usability and software architecture. She consults for many industrial and government organizations.

Peter Centgraf is currently a Research Programmer at Carnegie Mellon University working on the Task Structure and Interruption (TSI) project. He is also pursuing a Master's degree in Human-Computer Interaction part time. Peter received a B.S. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Psychology from Rice University in May 2003. He now seeks the happy place where psychology meets engineering to produce useful, interesting software. He has also worked as a programmer on the DrJava open source development environment, research assistant with the CHIL group, and software engineering intern with the User Tools team at Direct Supply, Inc.
