Pontifical University of Rio de Janeiro

This page is dedicated to my university in Brazil, where I did my
Undergraduate, Master and PhD courses and where I worked as a professor.
Since it is a university in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, so far
away from other universities in the world, I believe I should describe
			it in more detail.

PUC-Rio has 15,000 students and 2,000 PhD professors allocated to the
25 departments divided into four academic centers. My alma mater is among
the top programs in my country according to the Ministry of Education (#1
            in the 2004
General Evaluation) and undoubtedly the one that provides best interchange
			among theory, research and practice.

PUC-Rio has also attained some international
recognition and was cited by relevant academic centers such as Brown University as
“one of the top five universities in the country”
			(cf.http://www.brown.edu/Administration/OIP/programs/brazil/),
and by Harvard University as a “leading university in Brazil”
			(cf.http://www.exed.hbs.edu/programs/bvla/print.html)
with which it has established many academic partnerships. PUC is also
recognized by eminent professors, such as John Coatsworth and Monroe Gutman,
from the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies as one of
“the two most distinguished universities in Brazil”
			(cf.http://www.hno.harvard.edu/gazette/2003/01.23/09-brazil.htm).
