I am a n-th year PhD student in the Robotics Institute at Carnegie Mellon University advised by Professors Takeo Kanade and Yaser Sheikh. My research is directed towards structured prediction problems in computer vision, with a focus on understanding human motion from single images and monocular image streams.

I've also had the opportunity to spend a wonderful summer at Microsoft Research in Cambridge, UK., collaborating with Jamie Shotton and Andrew Fitzgibbon on problems in non-rigid 3D hand modelling from noisy depth images. Prior to that, I interned with Disney Research, Pittsburgh collaborating with Leonid Sigal on synthetically trained, viewpoint sensitive, pose estimation models. During my master's in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Carnegie Mellon, I also worked with Prof. Martial Hebert, developing applications for a first person vision device.

I graduated with a B.Tech degree in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras and the Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University before joining the Robotics Institute.
