Magnetop
Description of theMagnetop:
- Every kid at one point in there life has spinned a top. The Magnetop simply adds to idea by placing magnets around the outside of the top's edge. To use first the top must be spinned and to keep it moving a child needs to hold another magnet near the edge of the top as shown. This will speed up the top. To slow the top, simply turn the magnet around in the same position.
- The main principle behind Magnetop is clearly magnetism. The idea of force at a distance would be enhanced by seeing the reaction on the top.
- Construction cost of the Magnetop is minimal. The main factor in the cost would be the material we use for the top. If a metal is used it may be more expensive than a plastic but would last longer.
- The durability of Magnetop is also a function of the material we decide to use as well as the life of a magnet.
- The only safety concern would be the swallowing of the top or extra magnet so kids ages 5 and up should be a relatively reasonable age range.
