Here is a sketch of a Neodymium Golf set:
The principle upon which the toy design is based:
Magnetic Interactions, Gravity, Velocity, Collisions, Concepts of Magnetic Field Strength and Distribution, and Energy Transfers
How the child will interact with the toy:
1. Each Player (or team) places their large “goal” ball somewhere on the playing field.
2. Each opponent takes turns throwing their balls (Bocce-style) onto the field, trying to get their balls as close to their goal ball as possible.
3. The player (or team) with the most balls directly touching their goal ball wins (if none of the balls are in contact with the two goal balls, then the side that has one of their balls closest to their goal wins.)
Note: The two goal balls are oppositely polarized magnetic balls and each team gets a balanced collection of magnetic balls, half of which are polarized one way and half are the opposite.
Issues of Construction Costs, Durability, and Safety:
This is a very expensive toy – it contains significant quantities of highly magnetic rare earth elements. This toy is designed to be highly durable and safe for everybody – no parts would pose a choking hazard but parental supervision is recommended for younger children who wish to use this toy indoors or around fragile things like crystal vases, which would pose the primary safety hazard.
