Waddles is a wind up toy designed for toddlers between the ages of 2 and 6 years of age. When playing with waddles the child will see how the rapid back and forth movement of the legs results in a waddling motion. Also, since the legs move so quickly in the air compared to when Waddles is on the ground, the child should gain an understanding of how the weight of the toy affects its movement.
The toy is simply wound up by the mechanism located where the animal's tail would be. The winding motion powers an internal gearbox that drives a shaft attached to the legs.
The cost of production for Waddles would be relatively low because the materials are all plastic, and the gearbox that drives the toy would be a generic wind-up toy gearbox. More importantly, the toy would be very safe as there are no parts that a yound child could break off, no sharp edges, and the toy as a whole would not fit into a child's mouth. |
