Hi there! I am Mridul Gupta, in the masters program at the Language Technologies Institute, School of Computer Science, Carnegie Mellon University. I am interested in solving problems in the domain of natural language processing (NLP) and applied machine learning. More specifically, my research interests are in machine translation and speech recognition.

I am currently working with Prof. Alexander Rudnicky on letter-to-phoneme conversion i.e., pronunciation modeling for speech recognition. I also worked with Prof. Stephan Vogel on statistical machine translation at LTI.

In the past, I graduated with a Bachelor of Technology degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad, (IIIT-Hyderabad), India, in 2009. I worked as a research assistant on problems related to natural language processing at the Language Technologies Research Center, IIIT-Hyderabad during my undergrad.
