Re: Placing candidate text under oval

I look forward with enthusiasm to getting this working.  There are only 8 counties out of 65 in the New York State that count absentees with optical scan, 3 with punch cards and the rest manually.  Legislation is changing to uncertified the punch card and to change from "excuse" to "no excuse" for absentees.  Then we go after the precinct counters.

Thanks Ken.  I should have read your previous response more carefully.

1.18.1 is the trick.

Will the system accept a minus quantity?  Is there a trick to it?

A simple, perhaps dirty, approach to this is to allow negative candidate margins.  In your example below, you would choose right candidate margin of - 1/4", and this would expand the candidate area into the oval area.  This is now done, and will be in 1.18.1.  A release date for 1.18 hasn't been set yet, but will probably happen some time this month.
