Using Programmable Shading Hardware: CineFX and Cg
Cem Cebenoyan, Nvidia

Abstract

In the past, graphics hardware operated as a complex state machine which was simply configured and then fed data to process. Today's hardware is a hybrid. Some parts are fully programmable while other parts behave like configurable state machines. This lecture introduces these new programmable graphics architectures and the software tools needed for their effective use.
