Drug Prevention Lectures Popular

Tulsa World
January 10, 1990

Response to a series of drug prevention lectures has been overwhelming, said a spokesman for the Narconon Chilocco New Life Center, which presents the lectures.

More than 10,000 people have attended the "Truth About Drugs" lectures at about 200 Oklahoma schools, businesses and community groups in recent months, said Gary Smith of Narconon.

"We have been especially in demand in public schools as children are in need of the truth about drugs," Smith said.

Narconon is an international network of drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers and has been involved in education for 23 years. The group is renovating the Chilocco Indian School campus for a new center to open in 1990. The site is near Newkirk.
