Angela Ting was born July 12th, 1976 to Thomas & Cecilia in the East Malaysian town of Sarikei, Sarawak. She has a sister Gertrude and 2 brothers Hubert and Michael. Angela lived in Sarikei till she moved to Skudai, Johore at the age of 17. Here, she attended the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Masters in Engineering Management. In 2000, she moved to Singapore to work on another Masters in Engineering specializing in Material Science at Nanyang Technological University.  When she was done, Angela joined the Agency for Science Technology and Research in Singapore, where she is currently senior officer with the Science and Engineering Research Council.
