Engineers shall avoid all conduct or practice which is likely to discredit the profession or deceive the public.

Code is relevant when:

Engineer performs action that reflects on the engineering profession or informs the public

Code is violated when:

Engineer's action is likely to discredit the profession
OR
Engineer's action is likely to deceive the public

Code is not violated when

Engineer's action is not likely to discredit the profession
AND
Engineer's action is not likely to deceive the public
