III.3.a.

Engineers shall avoid the use of statements containing a material misrepresentation of fact or omitting a material fact necessary to keep statements from being misleading; statements intended or likely to create an unjustified expectation; statements containing prediction of future success; statements containing an opinion as to the quality of the Engineers' services; or statements intended or likely to attract clients by the use of showmanship, puffery, or self-laudation, including the use of slogans, jingles, or sensational language or format.

Code is relevant when:
Engineer makes a statement(s)
Code is violated when:
Engineer's statement(s) contain a material misrepresentation of fact
OR
Engineer's statement(s) omits a material fact that could be misleading
OR
Engineer's statement(s) is intended or likely to create an unjustified expectation
OR
Engineer's statement(s) contains a prediction of future success
OR
Engineer's statement(s) contains an opinion as to the quality of the Engineer's services
OR
Engineer's statement(s) is intended or likely to attract clients by the use of showmanship, puffery, or self-laudation, including the use of slogans, jingles or sensational language or format.
Code is not violated when
Engineer's statement(s) does not contain a material misrepresentation of fact
AND
Engineer's statement(s) does not omit a material fact that could be misleading
AND
Engineer's statement(s) is not intended or likely to create an unjustified expectation
AND
Engineer's statement(s) does not contain a prediction of future success
AND
Engineer's statement(s) does not contain an opinion as to the quality of the Engineer's services
AND
Engineer's statement(s) is not intended or likely to attract clients by the use of showmanship, puffery, or self-laudation, including the use of slogans, jingles or sensational language or format.
