Access Notes - Vol. 12 Winter 1995

Staff Notes

The Access Fund Boulder office welcomes Tilly Laskey as Office Manager. Tilly has managed several retail establishments in the area, serves on the board of a local arts organization and has produced a number of successful events. She has been climbing for over ten years and lives in the mountain town of Nederland.

Tilly replaces Kirsten Smith, who took a position with another company in Boulder. We wish Kirsten well on her journey up the corporate ladder.

Other changes in the office include a new database to keep track of our ever-growing membership base. Switching from our old, complicated system to the new, easier-to-use Microsoft Access was not without its perils. Transferring the data and getting the bugs out of the system has taken time and has meant delays in getting out your premiums, thank you letters and renewal notices. In fact, you may even get another renewal notice after you have renewed as we are trying to catch up. We apologize for any inconvenience, and we'll be back on track as soon as possible. We thank you, our members, for your patience.

Speaking of membership, we're in the midst of energizing the whole program. We've updated the membership brochure and are restructuring the membership categories and benefits. In the coming year, new and renewing members will receive a resource packet which will include regional contacts, ways to get involved, and more.

We've had a number of volunteers in the office lately, and they've given us a great deal of help in our mailings, calendar order processing and other activities. We want to thank Kristanne Koch, Dave Levine, Ryan Domocmat, Bob Monnet and Lewis Lankfort for their cheerful assistance. Volunteers are always welcomed and needed; talk to Stu in the Boulder office to volunteer.
