About Me

I'm currently a Master of Language Technologies student at CMU, and a Research Assistant in DialRC, co-supervised by Prof. Alan Black and Dr. Maxine Eskenazi. Before I moved to Pittsburgh, I worked as an NLU Research Engineer at Nuance Communications for two years. I received my BASc in Cognitive Science with minor in Statistics at McGill University in 2017. My research interests are in dialogue systems and natural language processing (NLP). At McGill, I was supervised by Prof. Jackie Cheung in the Reasoning and Learning Lab (now part of MILA). I also worked with Prof. Michael Wagner in the Prosody Lab for a summer.

Industry

Being part of the Corporate Research division, my job consists of 2 parts, NLU research and software development. On the research side, I play with machine learning models, like Seq2Seq and Transformer, to solve challenging problems in NLU, such as multi-intention detection, name entity recognition, and mention prediction. On the development side, I deploy trained models into production, build toolkit, and construct pipelines for our engine's new features.
