Notes This design is intended to stand in combat against BC-grade attackers of the types generally found in the Silesian Confederacy, and is therefore built with BC-grade (IAN-standard) armour, sidewalls, and radiation/particle shielding. Production numbers are relatively high for a single class due to the IAN’s need for additional Medium Combatants in Silesia as a result of the RMN’s drawdown of light and medium units for front-line service in the Alliance-Havenite War. Deployment of this class also frees significant numbers of IAN capital ships (primarily Seydlitz-class SDs) from convoy escort for other duties.
