Notes The lead ship of this class, HMS Morningstar, is the second ship of this name in the RMN. She was originally to be commissioned under a different name as the fifth Phantom-class BC, but this–and the armament scheme–was changed before the keel plates were laid, when the name Morningstar was added to the RMN List of Honor after the glorious (and victorious, against two PN Mars-class CAs) last battle of the Broadsword-class CA which first bore the name.
The super-heavy (for a BC) chase grasers in this class are recycled from the broadside weapons of DNs which have suffered too much damage to be economically repaired, or broadside and chase weapons of captured PN DNs and BBs, and thus may range in size from as small as 350cm to the 475cm listed here. Like the Phantom class, the Morningstar is equipped with sidewalls/shielding equivalent to those of a PN Triumphant-class BB. It also incorporates a greater degree of automation than in previous RMN ships of the BC type, along with EW systems approximately 25% more capable than the latest Reliant-class BCs.
