| Notes | This class is a variant on the
Dragonfly class CA, optimized for the escort role. Like the
Dragonfly, it has BC-grade sidewalls and particle/radiation
shields and heavy armour for its size, but its point defense is designed
to be in a class with most large BCs. Ships in this class will be named for various types of infantry/horse cavalry defensive armour from Old Earth military history before the 2nd Century Ante Diaspora (20th Century CE): the Class Ship, GNS Ishilinga, is named for a shield carried by the Kaffiri tribesmen of South Africa during the 3rd Cent. A.D. “Zulu Wars.” |
