HOW IT WORKS
Captain Chuck's Cruiser operates by twisting Capt. Chuck. This winds a spring which is connected to a paddlewheel located at the stern. A belt connects the paddlewheel's axel to the spring motor. When Capt Chuck is released, the spring motor spins, which in turn causes the belt to turn the paddle wheel. Depending onthe current, Captain Chuck's Cruiser should run like a gem.

WHY IT WORKS
Later in life, the child will learn his/her favorite toy as a child was based upon the Hooke's Law principle. As they twisted the captain, they continually displaced the spring, creating potential energy. When they released Capt. Chuck, the potential energy would be converted to kinetic energy, causing the boat to move.
