This toy utilizes two dimensional
motion, energy conservation, and pressure. The
fuselage of the rocket acts as a container for
the air to be pumped into. There is a latch
on the pump station to prevent the rocket from
moving. The pump is used to build the pressure
within the rocket. Once the pressure reaches
a certain point, the latch will be released,
and the rocket will take off.
The rocket can be cheaply made from using plastic
for both the pump and the rocket itself. In
a commercial model, there could be a target
board included in the package, so that friends
can get together and compete for points to see
how far they can launch their rockets. Recommended
for ages 4+.
