RE: VCProgrammer - GEMS Extract File to Start Program

In Gems 1-17-4, I only have Election->Export Results->Export Card Info.  There is no Election->Export->Export Voter Card Info.  Is there some other files that need to be loaded besides the Gems.exe file for 1-17-4??

Yes,

Use the "Export Voter Card Info" not the "Export Card Info"

Hi Tab,

In GEMS-1-17-4, I do the Export Card Info, and the Carddata.txt file is 74MB.  Is there something that I am missing???

Steve,

I meant to include a section in the "VCProgrammers User Guide" on how to export the data from GEMS.

Do not use the "Export Card Data", rather use the "Export Voter Card Info".  For LA this is creates a 549KB file and for Alameda it creates a 236KB file.
You will need to use GEMS-1-17-4 to get the "Export Voter Card Info" menu item. It is Election->Export->Export Voter Card Info.

A good job was done on the VCProgrammer User Guide for installation process.  It is good to have something to look at.  One main question arises.

The doc indicates that VC Programmer is looking for a file called VoterData.txt.  GEMS has an Export Card Data function.  Is that the program that makes the file we need?  If so, it creates a 9MB file.  I haven't tried it yet, because it creates a 9Mb file and obviously the PC has no Imation drive on it.  I'll wait for Tab to comment.  Maybe I have the wrong Export?  So bottom line is "How does the VOTERDATA.TXT file get created in GEMS?"
